Qualifications

The QFI NVQ in Tunnelling Operations (Construction) at Level 2 qualification provides a nationally recognised qualification to demonstrate competence for those working in the construction and the built environment sector.

The qualification’s requirements have been specified in the National Occupational Standards (NOS) developed by the Sector Skills Council (SSC) CITB in liaison with employers and industry/ sector representatives. As an NVQ, all units within the qualifications are derived from these occupational standards directly, and evidence of knowledge, skill and understanding will be gained from a workplace or a realistic workplace situation.

This qualification is suitable for apprentices/those already in employment that wish to develop their knowledge and skills of tunnelling in the construction sector. It is designed to assess and prove occupational competence in the workplace to a recognised standard in the construction industry.
