Our Vision

  • Vision

QFI will become the preferred awarding body covering qualifications for extractives, civil engineering, construction and the built environment industries.

Our key sectors:

  • Extractives industry

This consists of any operations that remove metals, mineral and aggregates from the earth. Examples of extractive processes include oil and gas extraction, mining, dredging and quarrying.

  • Civil engineering

This is a professional engineering discipline that deals with the design, construction, and maintenance of the physical and naturally built environment, including works like roads, bridges, canals, dams, and buildings.

  • Construction sector

The construction sector is part of the goods-producing industries super-sector group. The construction sector comprises establishments primarily engaged in the construction of buildings or engineering projects (e.g., highways and utility systems).

  • Built environment

In social science, the term built environment, or built world, refers to the man-made surroundings that provide the setting for human activity, ranging in scale from buildings to parks. It has been defined as “the human-made space in which people live, work, and recreate on a day-to-day basis.”
